The Concert Gods Have Smiled Upon Me

I’ve been slacking on my blogging.  I’m pleased that people have missed me because I’ve gotten a few angry notes about where’s the Wordless Wednesday pic. But with the Wild Rumpus being over it was time to focus on Brownlee’s bday and we took an old lady bus trip to the casino (net profit $40!!!!!!!) and what not and I’m sleepy.

I’ll fill all that in with a catch up post.  I’ll be a better blogger next week.

But in my world the stars have aligned just so and within a month’s span I will have the pleasure of laying my 4 eyes on:

VAN HUNT

NIKKA COSTA

&

SPOON

The dictionary doesn’t even have a word in it to describe how psyched I am.  Van Hunt is tonight.  I saw him a few months ago and I’m shocked that he’s back so soon but now I know his latest release by heart and will be singing along with EVERYTHING.  We were fortunate enough to hang out at Warehouse Live and meet him after the show last time, so fingers crossed we get a little repeat action.

Nikka Costa is Monday.  I had to drive way to dumb ass Dallas to see Nikka three years ago.  But it was worth it.  I’ve loved Nikka since 2001 when MTV2 was first born and showed absolutely nothing but music videos.

Me, TMite, and Ariel drove all the way to Dallas (well the DFW area, namely the “center of Fort Worth”) to some bar and stood close to the stage and rocked so very very hard.  Then we hung out with the band afterwards and TMite even traded pieces of flare with a trumpet player.  This is not some euphemism.  They swapped scarves or something.

And Spoon is April 13th at House of Blues.  At first I was taken aback by the ticket price. $28.50?! Brit done lost his mind, but it is House of Blues and I’m sure they get some cut or whatever but it has been over 2 years since I’ve seen the boys and I haven’t seen them perform Transference.  I hope this means there is new music in the works.  So what I own 6 of their cds and about 3 live cds and 2 bsides and a few singles.  Everyone needs more Spoon in their lives.

I’m getting merch at every concert.  I hope they even have baby merch for Addy.

The Black Keys will even be at the Woodlands the end of March and they let you just come out there and sit outside and listen to the concert soooooo I might have my ears full of free concert if I make the effort to drive out there and camp out with the other freeloaders.

So basically the next 30 days or so will be filled with amazing.

And here is an Addy pic to tide you over until I have a proper Wordless Wednesday.
