While I Was Lazy

Since I promised an update post here’s what’s been going on.

I have an appointment to get my wisdom teeth taken out Friday, but not before getting a crown or whatever put in tomorrow.  I’m half hoping the crown takes all my dental coverage for the year so I can put off the wisdom teeth removal yet another year.  10 year streak going so far! But I also just want to get it over with cause I don’t know why I thought it was crazy extensive but the doctor said it only took an hour.  Anyway we’ll see how all that goes as the week progresses.

Brownlee’s birthday was last week and we celebrated with a trip to Coushatta in Kinder, Louisiana.  We took an old lady bus with an overnight stay in the hotel for a whopping $50 which included $23 in credit for the casino.  We weren’t high rollers but there were 13 of us so a great time was had by all.  Especially us who broke even or even those like me who came home with a profit!  Hello extra $40!  And me and Brownlee got lunch comped.  BALLIN!

Van Hunt was Friday and he was phenomenal.  Ariel even got taken backstage for a meet and greet.  Nikka Costa tonight!!!!

And for what everyone really wants to know about, what Addy has been up to.

She’s way more vocal.  Constantly talking to us about things.  Her voice rises and pauses like she’s trying to ask us questions.  We answer.  She yells at her Daddy when he’s not paying attention to her.  Literally saying “DADDY!”.  Grocery store trips take a little longer now because she makes a point to say hi and bye to everyone on the aisle with us.  I stalked this lady with an 8 month old in her cart so Addy could see the baby close up.

Gymboree is still fun.  She’s still the class clown.  The other week the woman at the front desk could hear her laughing with the door closed.  I’ve managed to not buy any musical instruments from the class but the way she was working the cage bells yesterday I might gave soon.  Grandpa is also telling us to look into swim lessons because she’s been hitting the breaststroke like a champ in the tub,

She’s been a lot more picky when it comes to food.  Besides that time she took lettuce out of her mouth and wiped it on TMite, she’s no longer interested in her favorite organic turkey dinner, and there was a hilarious incident involving raviolis.  Remember the cookies she threw on the floor?  It was something like that but at she did at least lick them.  We even tried to cover it up with ground meat but the raviolis still ended up on the floor.  Yay for Scooter.

Fortunately we’re not to the point where she only eats fish sticks or chicken tenders, she’s just more into eating what we’re eating.  I know that’s not bad but it has shifted our dinner menus more towards chicken and away from pork (I won’t give her any) so that’s good for all but how many ways can you make chicken?  We’ve also been taking her out to eat more since every restaurant has mashed potatoes as a side.  She loves it.  So far I think Dave & Busters is her favorite since she got to run wild and drive the video games and hit all the buttons.

I think that’s about it.  The weather has been great so I hope to buy us some kites and hit the park this weekend.  We’ll see if I can even get Addy to look up and not eat the dandelions.
