#NewMusicMonth – Big Grams

Bella sent me this tweet:

And we were like OMGOMGOMG yes and then the 1st went by and then we were like “ok let’s really do it”.  So here we are.

I’m not saying I’m going to listen to, or blog EVERYDAY but I mean it’s a start.  And let’s call it #NewMusicMonth because I need tags.

Day 2: Big Grams

The Who:

I love when groups take a break from each other and work on side projects.  That’s how we got Recounters.  That’s how we got Divine Fits.  And this is how we got Big Grams.  Big Boi and Phantogram got together for this project.  Skrillex and Run The Jewels stop by for help, both of which I know of, but don’t know know.

The Why:

I listen to XMU a lot and they play Fell In The Sun and one of the DJ’s was like “that was from Big Grams featuring Big Boi of Outkast” and I was like “Wait what?” but the DJ didn’t repeat it but I did Shazzam it…the next time it came on.

Anyway I had it on my Amazon Prime list but never listened it and then this tweet came along and here we are.

The Deets:

It’s only 7 tracks but that’s really all you need.  I’m pretty mad at myself about for not listening sooner.  It’s what you’d expect from Big Boi.  Heavy beats.  Lyrics about not getting women pregnant. Very, very Southern. This is a turn the music all way and let the windows down CD.  Sorry if you live in the Winter, but you need to find a workaround.

Verdict:

I owe Big Grams $8 or whatever it costs to own music in 2016.
