It’s not so much that I haven’t been listening to new music as much as no new music has been great enough for me to want to make a #NewMusicMonday post.
I listened to Maxwell’s new blackSUMMER’SNight which is the 2nd of 3 albums we were supposed to be getting. That’s fine and all if the first one didn’t come out like 10 years ago*. And it’s not that it was bad, it’s still Maxwell and he’s still a great singer. I just didn’t care really? I only gave it one pass.
The other new new that didn’t do it for me was SChoolboy Q’s new CD, Blankface. I thought I was looking forward to it but it turns out maybe I just like his singles and don’t want his CD.
I’ve really still just been listening to Chance the Rapper and Lake Street Dive.
BUT thanks to channel scrolling on XM, I have saved a few singles that are pretty nice listens.

*(did my Googles and it was 2009. Also we need to discuss the fact that Maxwell only has 5 LPs out. It’s like when you realize Chris Tucker has only been in 9 movies (Rush Hour franchise counts as 1))
