NxWorries – Yes Lawd!
Right, so if you’ve watched the NFL on a Sunday this fall, you’ve heard some of Anderson .Paak. I listened to him not too long ago for #NewMusicMonth and he’s been doing a lot of things since. He’s teamed up with producer Knxowledge (obviously X = O…and I don’t know why) for this project and I love it. Much like how I loved Malibu and Big Grams.
I wasn’t sure what to expect because I’m old spell out words and my 95-2002 produced the best music old ass can be skeptical of what these kids are doing. But some of my favorite podcasters Jenkins & Jonez were like “this is a jamma” and sure enough it was on Spotify so I went for it. Wikipedia is telling me that they’ve done an EP but Yes Lawd! is the first studio album and is in fact new new.
It’s soulful and funky and full of bad words and I’ve been listening to it all week. My favorite tracks are “Get Bigger” and “Suede”. (NSWF)
