The Handmaid’s Tale
In March I told you to add The Handmaid’s Tale to your list. If you missed that, don’t worry because it’s on my list again. The show is out and holy hell it is amazing. AMAZING. It’s shot beautifully and it’s terrifying. I text my friends once a week to talk me down cause I’m bugging out. And then I listen to the Red All Over recap podcast and freak out some more.
Facetory Subscription Box
If you’re a fan of the blog on Facebook, on most Fridays, you’ll see my “Friday Night Turn Up”. It’s usually Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives and Pinterest until I fall asleep. Sometimes I switch it up and will do a facemask and Netflix. A lot of the beauty folks on Twitter talk about KBeauty (K stands for Korean) and how awesome the masks are. Of course there’s a subscription box for that. Facetory has two options, 4 masks a month, or 8 masks a month. 4 does the trick for me because I only do them once a week. And I don’t have to stand in the aisle at Ulta or Target and try to figure out which mask I’m going to want. AND the cost ($9.95/mo) is less than the cost of two masks from Sephora . Plus if there really is a mask that you like, you can always order it from their site. Facetory is something I actually use unlike the beauty boxes where’d I’d use one thing and stash the others away.
Instagram Stories of Famous People
I have Snapchat. I don’t use Snapchat. I have Instagram. I use it every other hour. Lauren was telling me how she likes the Instagram Stories more than Snapchat so I figured I’d give them a watch to see how they were any different. They aren’t really, BUT I don’t have to go to another app to look at them AND if someone goes live while I’m on Instagram, you can just watch. This comes in handy when your favorite band on Earth, Spoon, decides to go live at a concert and then the roadie takes the phone and sets it up stage left for a total of 30 minutes of show. WHAT! It was during Friday night turn up so I got to watch the whole thing and interact with 130 other people that were watching and subsequently losing their minds. It was amazing. I also like to watch Dan Levy’s (see: Schmidt’s Creek) videos. He’s currently watching The Keepers on Netflix and that might be on my list next month. Basically whoever you’re currently loving on IG, watch their stories.
Lapel Pins
I’m not sure why these are popular (again???) but I’m loving lapel pins right now. When we went on the Disney Cruise, Addy started collecting the Disney pins and I kept referring to them as pieces of flair, until I saw the Iron Man and Jack Skellington ones. Afterwards, I saw a Black Daria one on Facebook and then started getting ads in my feed for them…and I just keep buying them. It’s just a small way to show my nerd at all times. Why yes, I’m in a meeting in a cardigan…with a Jack Skellington pin.

I have nothing on my list. My only obsession is paranormal romance and I've been obsessed with that going on three years now, that's a habit. I've got to find some new things. I recently bought an electric toothbrush and I wonder why I never did that before. That's all I got.
I follow some people on twitter that are into paranormal romance. I think there's a buttton of freebies on Amazon.
I started The Keepers and fell asleep but I'll probably try to get into it again. And I still need Hulu. And I love that we both went the celeb-IG stories route without prior discussion (though nothing on IG beats John Mayer's snapchats when they are at their best). The mask box sounds like a good deal. My friend brought me like 6 from Hong Kong but I've only done one!
I have the Kind pin, but my absolute favorite pins right now are RBG's dissent collar and my F Paul Ryan pin.
Yes! The dissent collar has been in my feed and I'm considering getting it. i might as well before they stop making it.
My husband was watching The Handmaid's Tale and I was like nopenopenope. I couldn't do it and I don't know why. I'm not opposed to the message behind it or anything but I just have no desire to watch it. Weird, right?

Yes, yes, yes! I'm two episodes behind on Handmaid's, but I think I'm gonna keep it that way and binge the rest of the season. It's so good and creepy! I just bought some lapel pins this weekend (Buzz's girlfriend from Home Alone, The Malibu Sands Beach Club logo from Saved by the Bell, and a bottle of Zima. LOL!) and want so many more. I love your Jack and library cart!! And I'm totally obsessed with Dan Levy/Schitt's Creek.

I have Handmaid on my list of shows to watch this summer since the season is ending on so many of my favorites. It is crazy how many subscription boxes there are now, right? I haven't heard of this one so I will have to check it out.
they ship them super fast too. as long as you pay during that month, you'll get the box for that month. i really look forward to my friday nights.
I want to watch The Handmaid's Tale sometime – I read the book in university ages ago but I think I need to re-read it before starting the show. I have heard nothing but good things!!!
