Politics.

My neighbor finally took his Tr*mp flag down today. The election was completed November 3rd. So I guess I should change the title on this to 11.04.20.

I am trying very hard not to deify Kamala. There’s a popular movement on Twitter to staunchly say what is or is not a personality and attaching yourself to a politician has to be at the top of that list. I did order a shirt because it’s not a permanent choice, like a bumper sticker. But I am open to criticizing her and Joe and I’ve already had choice words for them on Twitter about trying to fund raise for a transition that’s already supposed to have been funded.

Also Barack Obama has a book out. I am not buying nor reading it. Nate Marshall, a young Black author from Chicago, was on the 11th Hour with Brian Williams this week to talk about the book. And the first words out of his mouth were “eh you can skip it.” It’s 700 pages. It’s $48. I’m happy that people are getting a thing they can enjoy. It just ain’t for me. Don’t tell me that Amazon has it for $28. We shop local for physical books.

Anyway Nate Marshall was getting bombarded with tweets about how dare he say anything bad about Obama and how he wasn’t fit to shine Obama’s shoes and I had to take a step back and remember that fanboys on either side of the aisle are terrible.

My hope is that we have so much Black content and so many outstanding Black politicians and leaders that the few currently available don’t have to be everyone’s everything. I also felt this way about Lovecraft Country.

Personality

I’m an INFJ and if you know what that means it means you’re the personality type that takes personality test.
Also, Enneagram 9,5,6 in that order. Like 1 point difference each.

Writing.

I finished a book. I’ll share it in some fashion when I’m done with editing a proofing and editing and proofing and formatting but as far as when that will be who knows. I am not of the opinion that turning hobbies you love into a job should be a thing. It mostly ruins the thing you love. But Amazon makes it really easy to sell things on Kindle so that will probably be the best route to get me some spending change for new notebooks.

Skillz.

I’ve circled back to the point in the panny where I thought I should do something with my ample time and I made this recipe from Sohla at Food 52. I’m not going to say it was quick, but it wasn’t difficult and it was delicious.

  1. Congratulations on writing a book! I am also a believer that turning something you love into a job removes the ability to love it.

When I see trump flags still up, I feel like setting them on fire
