Here’s the recap from Day 1 if you need to catch up. Catch UP!
Day 2 of the Blog Elevated conference started with another grande chai latte. I ran into Lauren at Starbucks at we were tired from our brains learning but we were looking forward to the breakout sessions.
I should have been looking forward to the opening speaker that day.… and then
A few weeks ago I signed up to go to the Blog Elevated conference. I mean it’s down the street from me and supposed to give me tips to take my blog to the next level. Whatever I choose for that to be. Instead of bombard you with all the technical details of what I learned, let’s do a summary yes?… and then
Brownlee has made me realize that I have some expensive hobbies. You may or may have not noticed that I 1) blog and 2) take a lot of pictures.
This costs money.
And at first it was like: ”Hey look I can just get this free wordpress.com blog and it will be fun.”
Two years later: “I’m going to buy me a domain so I can do what I want on my blog.”
Two years later: “Oh snap it’s time to renew my hosting and guess what I got a discount ticket to BlogElevated so I need some business cards and I’m gonna get some blog swag and…”
Or “look I can get this Canon Rebel for el cheapo on Black Friday. … and then
Let’s just dive right in.
I registered for the Blog Elevated conference. It’s a promising conference on how to take my blog to the next level and networking and all that stuff the blog conferences is made of. Plus it’s like a mile from my house. Yay for Houston getting things that I want to be a part of. I’ve met some awesome ladies through Facebook and Twitter but we usually just get together and talk about wine and Instagram. … and then
When I went to the Houston Blogger Symposium I met a bunch of lovely ladies who like to get together and talk it up and hang out and have a good time.
I finally got to go to such a meetup this Sunday. It was Pinterest themed, so we were supposed to make a treat we’ve pinned and we were going to do a Pinterest craft. … and then
Yes I’m blogging on a Saturday. It’s my blog. I do what I want.
Someone taught my child how to say “ewww” and “mine”. Which is equal parts hilarious and annoying. Like some dog (not Scooter) pooped on the sidewalk and Addy was grossed out (she’s a girly girl) and said “ewwww” as hard as a 1.5 year old could. … and then
Sometimes I don’t think something warrants a full blog post. I know this is m blog and I can post whatever I please, but I feel like it should be more than a picture or sentence or whatever. And instead of getting a new social networking tool like Tumblr, I might occasionally jumble things together into one big ass posts instead of like 4 tiny posts. … and then
then she’ll want a domain
then she’ll want some personalized goodies
then she’ll make bloggy friends (see those buttons over there ->)
then she’ll show her boyfriend their blog layout and demand changes
then she’ll start to talk like a blogger
widgets, html, wordpress, twitter, death to CAPTCHA
then she’ll want to go to a bloggy conference
then she’ll need more bloggy swag
then she’ll need some cool cards to send out the swag
(so swinging by Paper Source to get these)
then she’ll want a new computer and/or smartphone to keep up with bloggy things
the moral of this story is
blogging is awesome.… and then
Things look a little different around here huh? Well I hope you like it. Since I signed up for the Houston Blogger Symposium, I was looking at some of the other attendees blogs and got itchy for a little redesign. I really liked the old layout, but it only featured two categories, and since I’ve been *trying* to do more writing, I wanted to make sure it was featured. … and then
A few lucky bloggers I know have scored tickets to hit up BlogHer. A giant blogging conference with big celebs and lots of bloggers and a super good ol bloggy time. I assume. That’s how everyone who goes makes it seem.
So I started to look up 2013 conference info cause I mean why not. Then I was like wait, this great state of Texas should have SOMETHING to offer in the way of blogging conferences. … and then
