Release the Keurig

So after like forever I managed to save the money required to start a new addiction.  Homemade coffee.  And yeah people have had coffee makers since the work day was invented or whatever but so what.  I’ve never been the type to wake up and start a pot and sit back and watch the sun rise over the horizon.  I wake up in just enough time to brush my teeth and get dressed and go out the door.  Notice I didn’t add do my hair.  That either barely gets brushed.  If a curling iron is required, I will be late to work . Plain and simple.  And for some reason I can’t call in “bad hair day”.

Since I have entered parenthood, I have come to require more of the coffee bean than before.  I’m normally an avid tea drinker.  I get me a cup or Lipton or Earl Grey when I get to work and that’s about it.  In theory the entrance of the Keurig would curb my Starbucks “issue”.  The “issue” being I go there.  A LOT.  And yes this will stop any morning trips, and for sure any weekend cravings.  I still reserve the right to go for lunch when I need to get out of the office.
I found a great Chai Latte KCup that tastes delish over ice.  Yummy.  I instantly fell in love with the Donut Shop KCup from the Coffee People.  Maybe it was the cinnamon vanilla creamer I added.  Maybe it was just good coffee.  But I see what all the people who bitch about the work coffee were talking about.  Like I don’t even want to try the other coffees.  I almost bought a 50 pack off Amazon because it’s like 60 cents a pack AND I get free (mooch off my mom) Prime shipping!  But then I would be a cup a day person.

No lie, that day will come.  But I’m not ready for it yet.

For now I will use it for the weekends and whenever else I see fit.  Lol.

735am, Saturday morning

Oh and so I don’t have to hear any mess, Brownlee contributed greatly to my fund.  Now that I have managed to actually save, my next piggy bank goal is to get a new iPod.  Apparently 30GB gets filled up after 5 years.  I need that 160GB monster.  And then I will keep the old old iPod to show Addy how back in my day we still needed machines to hold our music for us, we didn’t just have chips in our brains or whatever sort of contraption they come up with.  I’ll also tell her about CDs and cassette tapes and she will shake her head and laugh at her mother who was born in the last century.

  1. Welcome to making coffee at home. I can't get out of my house with myself and/or my children alive if I didn't have coffee before setting out for the day. Enjoy 🙂

  2. You know I'm not a coffee drinker either, but I'm going to have a cup of your donut coffee house blend the next time I visit. I just hope that visit doesn't occur in the afternoon, because it'll be too freakin' hot for coffee!
